Context

MyRent is a consumer mobile app that allows people to rent items from others nearby instead of buying them. The goal was to reduce waste and ownership friction by making short-term rentals easy, trustworthy, and community-driven.

I worked on MyRent as a founding designer as part of a small team, taking the product from concept to launch and supporting early growth.

What I Did

I led the end-to-end design of the product, covering product strategy, user experience, and visual design. I designed the core rental flows for both owners and renters, including discovery, listing, messaging, and booking, as well as trust and safety features such as secure payments and lender protection.

I collaborated closely with engineers and product partners, ran lightweight user research, and iterated quickly to validate assumptions and improve usability as the product evolved.

Results & Impact

MyRent launched as a fully functional mobile app and grew steadily through community adoption. The platform reached thousands of registered users, listings, and completed rental offers, with positive feedback around ease of use and the value of renting over owning.

The project demonstrated the viability of a peer-to-peer rental model and provided hands-on experience building a consumer marketplace from 0 to 1.
